Φ — On why NQORO

The golden ratio is not a formula or a pretty one. It is a code that runs through nature, art, and the way we make things.

By NQORO · April 20, 2026

The symbol Φ arrived before the name. Before the pieces, before the cotton knots, before even the first sketch. Φ is the golden ratio — approximately 1.618 — but that is only what the books say.

What Φ truly does is teach you how to see.

What gold hides

Greatness lies hidden in simplicity. It is not a pretty phrase to mount on a wall. It is a method: remove until only the things that have to be there remain. The ones that cannot be taken away without the piece ceasing to be.

Every object in NQORO is born from that cut. There is no filler. There is no decoration. There is fabric, there is stitching, there is silence.

The Golden Code

We call our catalogue Código Áureo — Golden Code — because it is not a seasonal collection. It is a vocabulary that grows — dress, shirt, blazer — and reads as one. Proportions repeat. Materials speak to each other. The catalogue is a continuous essay, not a runway.

Every piece carries an internal number, an SKU you will not see printed, but which marks its place in the system. NQORO is written in uppercase because they are letters that hold the weight.

Why Mexico

Because we have been sewing here for five hundred years. Because there are mills weaving with looms that kept running while other industries vanished. Because what globalisation took from Oaxaca, from Mérida, from Mexico City, we are going to return one garment at a time.

Every piece is made here. Every fabric is bought here. The gold is old because we inherited it.

— Naye, on why this exists.
